4TLOR Review ~ by Lou
It took me a little while to get into this story to start with. The characters took a little bit of warming up to, especially Asher Frederick!
In this story we meet Nora Randolph, who has been thrust into a completely new world, a new life and totally new experiences overnight. She is starting a new prestigious private school in London, having moved over with her Mum and her new partner, where all the rich, famous and privileged children go.
Immediately she is the outcast, and she can tell life is not going to be easy for her. Asher Frederick and his stuck up, elitist friends don’t exactly give the warmest of welcomes. Asher also has another ulterior motive for his hatred towards Nora, but also a reason as to why he starts to befriend her.
As we got to learn more about the characters including the secondary ones in their circle of friends, they all grew on me more and more. I really liked Asher by the end of the book as he showed his reasons for his behaviour, his vulnerability and his fears. I loved how their feelings developed and how those feelings had the potential to ruin all of Asher’s plans.
This story of full of Drama and angst. There is plenty of suspense and intrigue, to keep the pages turning and wondering what on earth was going to happen and how everything would pan out – because quite frankly it didn’t look like it was going to end well!!
Over all the story flowed really well. I love Carrie Aarons writing style. My only thought is that the English dialect, and speech was almost a bit OTT! It was almost like she was trying too hard to sound English with the way they all spoke to one another!!
A really enjoyable read!
