4TLOR 5 STAR REVIEW ~ by Lou
Eeeeek, we finally have Camilla’s book, and it is everything I hoped it would be and more. With the previous 4 books being about the Landry brothers, it was great to finally get ‘Swink’ and her integrating her new man into the family…or not.
From the previous books, we knew there was ‘someone’ in Cam’s life and in this story we finally meet the elusive Dominic Hughes and find out far more about him.
With Camilla being the youngest of the family (a whole 2 minutes younger than her twin sister!!), she has always been mothered and protected by them all. The brothers are fiercely protective of their little sister, and will not stand for anything other than what they deem to be the right thing for her.
But who and what her brothers have an opinion on, isn’t necessarily what Camilla thinks is best for herself. But of course throughout this book they continue to be their overbearing selves and stick their noses into places it’s not necessarily wanted….!
Dom is a wonderful character. He’s from a completely different world to the Landry family, the glitz, glamour, stuffy country clubs, charity events and money. He lives pay check to pay check, working a number of jobs, helping out his brother, and spending time at the gym preparing for fights to give him a bit of a bonus from time to time. But he is also fiercely protective, loyal and proud.
Dom has a great relationship with his brother Nate and his young nephew. With a dark and emotional past, Dom is struggling to move on and see the light at the end of the tunnel, or be willing to let Cam in more than she already is.
This whole story is beautiful, and possibly my favourite book of the series so far! There is a lot of emotion in this book, and we really get the see the relationship between Dom and Cam develop, experience their feelings and their fears. I loved the dynamics between Dom and the rest of the brothers, and how everything develops. With just the right amount of drama and angst, this book really was superb!
As always with Adriana Locke’s stories, I spent much time laughing, chucking and generally feeling happy, but she also managed to get that emotion out of me which required me to need a tissue or two as well! A superb final book in this series, and I can’t wait to see what she brings us next with a potential new spin-off series!!
